Simple Ways To Meditate Include Concentration On Breathing

The point of meditation is to make our mind quiet and at peace. It helps to stop all the stray thoughts which pass though our minds for a while and give it some rest. Ideally practicing simple ways to meditate should enable us to quiet our minds even in times when we are not meditating. It is not a simple thing to switch the mind off, but meditating helps a great deal.

One of the easiest meditation techniques to accomplish is to focus on the breathing. If you have ever taken any guided meditation lessons or listened to tapes or CD's of this type of session, they generally always start with the words "take a deep breath'. The reason for this is a deep breath will help you relax. Meditation has to take place when you are relaxed, so the more deep breaths you take, hopefully the more relaxed you will be.

Deep breathing is useful for relaxation even if you are not about to start meditating. We have all heard the words "take a breather", so taking a few deep breaths before any situation helps to calm you.

Simple meditation methods where breathing is the focal point, entails making use of the breath to release anxiety, worry or problems. A good exercise is to inhale through either the mouth or nose and when you exhale, imaging you are exhaling out of the tips of your fingers or soles of the feet. At the same time as you visualize this, also visualize that all toxins, worries and anxiety are being released with the exhalation.

Training your breath to be the focus of your attention can be accomplished by shallow and controlled breathing, Imagine at the same time that there is a feather on your chin or nose and you are not supposed to disturb it. The more focus you have on your breath, the more easily you will be able to find a meditative state.

You need to take whatever time you can out of your day and practice these breathing exercises whenever you have to opportunity. There are no fixed rules, do it when you go to bed at night or when you wake in the morning or both. Whatever makes you feel better!

5 New Sleep Commands To Trick Your Body Into Falling Asleep While You Keep Your Mind Awake

A while back I had been up all night working on something. Around noon I was very tired and decided to lay down for a few moments. As I lay there I began to feel a very uncomfortable urge to roll over. For no real reason I decided to ignore it and just lay there. To my extreme surprise I felt the paralysis wave roll over me and put me in full sleep paralysis.

The paralysis was completely unexpected. I had always thought it was something you had to be very deeply relaxed to achieve. Instead I was actually fairly tense and my mind was not at all in any kind of meditative state.

I'd accidentally found something that I had never seen in any books on lucid dreaming. The roll over signal itself was all you need to enter paralysis. I spent the next several months experimenting with different variations of what I'd done. I began looking for other ways to command the body into sleep and here's what I found.

The Two Types Of Sleep Commands

It turns out sleep commands come in two types: sleep starters and sleep triggers.

1.) Sleep Starters

Sleep starters are what you use to get the body to start thinking that maybe it's time to fall asleep. For instance, using stop drop and roll is a sleep starter because it makes your body ask for permission to fall asleep by artificially creating the roll signal.

2.) Sleep Triggers

Sleep triggers are how you then tell it "Yes: fall asleep right now". SDR has an implicit sleep trigger: when you simply ignore the roll over signal the body interprets it a trigger to enter sleep paralysis.

5 New Sleep Commands

In this section we'll cover sleep breathing and stopped eye micromovements, which are sleep starters. Then we'll cover three sleep triggers. The first is pause breaths, the second is muscle twitching and third is eye movements.

3 Ways To Learn The Sleep Breathing Sleep Starter

Sleep breathing is simply mimicking your body's breathing pattern when it's asleep. If you act closely enough like you're already asleep then your body thinks that it really is asleep, even if your mind is completely awake and not even slightly relaxed.

There are 3 basic ways to find out what your personal sleep breathing is like.

1.) Sleep Paralysis Perspective

First, when you enter waking sleep paralysis a lot of times your perspective shifts slightly away from the center of your head and in to your sinuses. It sounds like you're breathing in a cavern and you'll find your body automatically breathes with quite a lot more force than you do when you're awake. The breathing is much deeper and longer. Pay attention to how this sounds in order to learn your sleep breathing pattern.

2.) Watch Waking Breathing

The second way to learn your sleep breathing pattern is to practice staying perfectly still when you wake up in the morning. You can continue to breathe the same way you did when asleep if you wake up gradually.

3.) Record Sleep Breathing

The third way, which is the best, is to record yourself sleeping. For $30 you can get a digital voice recorder that can record the entire night. You can then use free software like Audacity to find the parts of the recording that have your sleep breathing.

Here is a recording I made of myself. It sounds a little creepy, but that's just how it sounds in a cheap recorder.

Once you have your recording you can listen to it right before you go to sleep in order to make sure you're on the right breathing rhythm. If you don't want to record yourself, you can download a free mp3 of my breathing pattern in the O.B.E Quickstart at www.Lucidology.com.

3 Sleep Breathing Gotchas

When you use sleep breathing there are a 3 gotchas to be aware of: These are the learning curve, blackout breathing, and the narcotic breathing effect.

1.) Sleep Breathing Learning Curve

The learning curve means that it takes practice and if you don't have the rhythm right it can prolong the time it takes to fall asleep. It's best to practice using sleep breathing for a couple nights before using it during an early morning O.B.E induction. However once you have the rhythm right, sleep breathing is probably the single most powerful of all the sleep commands.

A while back I laid down in the afternoon and just starting doing sleep breathing. I didn't use any other methods at all and within 15 minutes I entered waking sleep paralysis. I could roll over and completely wreck the paralysis and then bring it back again with just 3 or 4 sleep breaths.

I usually don't have that amount of control with sleep breathing, however it does show the potential power it has when you get the rhythm right.

2.) Blackout Breathing

The second gotcha is blackout breathing. A lot of times when you use sleep breathing for the first few minutes it seems like it's not working and you feel like you should give up. But then all of a sudden you black out and you're in a dream or you're waking up the next morning. The blackout breathing effect is very real so if you use sleep breathing for WILDs make sure you have a timer because otherwise there's a very good chance you'll send yourself so far into sleep so quickly that you'll never become lucid without a beep.

3.) Narcotic Breathing

The third gotcha is narcotic breathing. Sometimes instead of blacking out all at once you get a relaxing feeling. It feels like when you first wake up in the morning and the last thing you want to do is get up out of bed. You just want to go back to sleep. This is very useful in destroying insomnia. When you get the narcotic breathing effect it feels really good to lay there and breathe and you'll have no desire to get up. Narcotic breathing is a signal that it's working and you'll be asleep very soon.

Second Sleep Starter: Stop Eye Micromovements

That wraps it up for sleep breathing. The second sleep starter is to stop eye micromovements.

During the day the eyes are searching for changes in motion. Because of this they make tiny micro movements all the time and at the end of they day they are still making these micro movements even though you may want to go to sleep.

If you close your eyes and try to keep them still you'll find that after about 30 seconds they are still twitching very slightly. It's not easy to totally relax the eyes. However if you can keep them at complete ease for several minutes the body will interpret that as a signal that the mind may have fallen asleep. In fact if you keep your eyes still your body will often fall asleep even if the rest of your muscles are fairly tense.

Roll Eyes To Relax Them

Before sleep, relax your eye muscles by rolling them around in wide circles in both directions several times and then letting them rest. After 3 or 4 nights of practicing this you'll be able to keep your eyes totally still and you'll fall asleep much faster.

This brings us to sleep triggers which are used to convert partial paralysis into full paralysis.

First Sleep Trigger: Pause Breaths

The first trigger is pause breaths. When you reach 90% paralysis, the reason the body doesn't go to full paralysis is it has a bit of doubt about just how asleep the mind really is. This is because of muscle tension. The best solution is to relax more deeply but sometimes that's not possible.

What you can do is exhale and pause for 2 or 3 seconds. Relax as much as you can and then begin breathing again like normal. By relaxing your breathing you reduce your overall tension just barely enough to send a signal to complete the paralysis. During those 2 or 3 seconds you'll feel the paralysis deepening. Sometimes you may have to use 2 or 3 pause breaths about 15 seconds apart. When you do this, you're not trying to alter your blood oxygen levels or anything like that. The purpose is to simply lower your overall muscle tension just long enough to paralyze completely.

Second Sleep Trigger: Muscle Twitching

The second sleep trigger is muscle twitching which was actually the first sleep trigger I ever found. I reached partial paralysis and on a whim decided to try twitching my right forearm to see what happened. To my surprise my entire arm paralyzed. I then twitched my right calf and my right leg paralyzed. I gradually paralyzed my entire body that way and completed the separation.

In other words muscle twitching only paralyses the surrounding muscles. I've actually found that I could paralyze just a single finger by twitching it when in partial paralysis.

How To Do Muscle Twitching

To do this twitch once every second or two when you're in about 95% paralysis. The twitch is very gentle and only lasts the smallest fraction of a second. If you twitch your forearm the rest of your arm should not move at all. If you twitch too hard you'll wreck the paralysis so keep it very light.

Probably the reason this works is when you dream you try to move your muscles but sleep paralysis prevents you from moving. However you do move your muscles just a bit when dreaming which causes muscle twitching. This means the body associates muscle twitching with deep sleep so one way to mimic deep sleep is to use muscle twitching.

Third Sleep Trigger: Up And Down Eye Micromovements

The third sleep trigger is up and down eye movements. With your eyes closed you simply move your eyes up and down as fast as you can for about 10 seconds. I've never been able to get it to work using left and right movements. However there is actually a type of hypnotic psychotherapy called "eye movement desensitization and reprocessing" or EMDR which uses side to side eye movements. You may try experimenting with side to side movement to complete partial paralysis but I find up and down is a safer bet.

The Order To Use Triggers

So which trigger do you use? The most reliable strategy is to start with a few pause breaths which is usually all it takes to get to 100% paralysis. If that doesn't work use arm twitching. If that doesn't work use up and down eye movements. If that doesn't work just relax for a few more minutes before using the triggers again.

When To Use Sleep Triggers

I've experimented using sleep triggers to go directly from awake to asleep but that doesn't seem to work. I find that for up and down eye movements to work you need to be in about 99% paralysis, muscle twitching works at about 95% paralysis and pause breaths work at about 90% paralysis. So it's best to start out using sleep starters and then switch to triggers for the last step.

How Can Meditation & Yoga Help Your Business?

Running an Online Business requires one to maintain a certain strength of character.

The technical skills and techniques needed are easily learned, but it's your mindset and strength of character that will bring you great success and set you apart from your competitors.

How do you stay inspired, balanced, focused, enthusiastic and energised every single day? How do you maintain your clarity, dedication and industriousness on a day to day basis? What about maintaining a daily state of positivity and happiness and of belief, certainty and faith?

There are so, so, so many techniques out there to help achieve this state of personal peak performance. I've tried a heap of them! Personal development programs, books, courses, affirmations, programming, courses, visualisations, and more courses!

Of all these techniques, I have found the most beneficial to be regular, daily meditation. Meditation combined with a short period of inner reflection or character building.

Scientific studies into the practice of meditation, have shown incredible results in brain activity, brain synchrony and neurohormone levels. The results in neurohormones is the most noticeable effect I have felt.

Planetary Peace Meditation has shown increases in neurohormones, serum serotonin and plasma melatonin of up to 300%. This is my preferred choice of meditation.

In layman's terms, this means that I feel much happier after meditation! I am more centred and have much more clarity about what I am doing. I feel more relaxed and more positive about the day ahead, my business and life in general. My emotions are more stable and balanced, so I can see things clearly, rather than being clouded by my emotions.

I'm also able to deal with obstacles, which might otherwise put me behind schedule or put me in a negative mental place...as I have extra energy to handle them, and the added clarity to see them accurately and work them out practically.

So, do you think this has an effect on your Online Business and internet marketing? You bet it does! If you're familiar with the Law of Attraction, have read books by Abraham-Hicks or watched 'The Secret', you'll know what I mean.

If we are feeling good, and our Energy level is high, we attract what we want towards us. If your business requires new prospects hungry to buy into your business...then that's what you will get...a constant stream of new hungry prospects AND profit!

Its a smart idea to use the time immediately after mediation when you're feeling great, to do things for your business. Make a video, write an article, update your blog, write your adcopy, etc. Whatever you do will be infused with the good energy you generated during meditation. This in turn, will be picked up on by your prospects and will make them more receptive to you and your business.

For me, I prefer to meditate first thing in the morning after a shower. It's the perfect set-up for the day ahead. But any time during the day or evening is fine too. All you need is half an hour.

I go continue on and on about the benefits of meditation, but this would take us beyond the scope of this article.

Meditation And Yoga for Treating Anxiety

Although anxiety can be present in various levels of severity, it is none the less a serious condition with which millions of people are faced with each and every day of their lives. While for some people anxiety may be little more than a nuisance, for others it can be extremely debilitating as these people are forced to live with the threat of frequent panic attacks. Irrespective of how slight or how severe your anxiety level is, it's vital that you seek proper treatment.

The most common treatments for anxiety include prescription medication and therapy/counseling. However, there are those that profess a different, holistic approach to treating anxiety. This approach entails engaging in meditation therapy and it has been known to provide excellent results for even those that deal with incredibly high levels of anxiety.

The public may have a preset idea of this type of therapy. Meditation may sound a little off the wall and the value may be questioned. Truthfully, meditation can be quite a valuable process for those who want to reduce anxiety because it calms the mind. Ridding the mind of the excess 'noise' that keeps it an constant state of anxiety is achieved by this calming process.

Basic meditation can be performed seated, walking, or moving. Usually, when one meditates the main first step is to completely empty the mind of all thoughts. This is achieved by completely removing oneself from any clear imaging of events, thoughts, people, etc from the mind. One can simply meditate with a clear mind or one could meditate on something in particular. One common strategy would be to meditate on a Zen koan.

This is a stylistic approach to a question that has no answer. A Zen Koan is used to develop the skills needed to search one's own intrinsic character. This may seem somewhat daunting but in actuality it is simple. By allowing the mind to calm down and remove much of the 'noise' that is consistently present the anxiety is allowed to fade away.

Familiarizing yourself with the basics of mediation is by no means difficult. In fact, the internet offers a wealth of free resources concerning the subject. By following their detailed tips you can at least gain a rudimentary understanding of what is needed to get the most out of a meditation therapy session.

Of course, there will be those that may have more than a few reservations about meditating by themselves. Some individuals are not fans of such solitary pursuits and would prefer a little company. If this is how you feel, signing up for Yoga classes could solve this problem. Yoga integrates meditation into its sessions and that allows the mind to achieve the much needed calming effect to reduce stress, anxiety, panic, and depression.

Practicing yoga in your home is also recommended when you are not in class. This is helpful to achieve a habit of solitary meditation. Alleviating your anxiety will be accomplished. This is not a new concept. Meditation has been a method of relieving anxiety for many thousands of years. Why has it been used for so many years? Because it works. This is the reason that meditation should be tried by those who have anxiety problems.

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years. This alone is proof of it's effectiveness for releaving anxiety. You have nothing to lose so give it a try.

Meditation with the Help of Brain & Yoga Entrainment

Is it so hard to meditate? Can't you reach the meditative states of your brain and maintain it for some time? Meditation is very healthful but difficult to achieve. It can take weeks or months of practice before it becomes natural for you. Brainwave entrainment though can help you achieve the meditative state rapidly.

When we are relaxing, daydreaming or listening to a monotonous lecturer, our brainwaves can go to the lower meditative states. This is not the ideal meditative state though because the mental chatter, which is best subdued to benefit from meditation, is still coming strong. The great storehouse of knowledge and creativity of the unconscious mind may not surface to the conscious awareness because of this mental chatter.

A common technique to achieve the meditative state is to close your eyes and notice every sensation you feel when you inhale and exhale. Notice the air passing into your nostrils. Notice it enter your lungs. Notice how your lungs and diaphragm expand. Notice also everything you feel when you exhale. That is one good way of eliminating the mental murmur, you occupy your mind with a few thoughts.

Thinking of only one thing can also bring you to a lower brainwave state. Try to imagine an apple with eyes closed as you begin your meditation session. Notice the color, the texture, and the smell. Rotate it and notice the surface of the skin. Let your mind stay on the apple for as several minutes till you get into the meditative state.

Meditation needs practice and the goal is to tame the mental chatter as to let the messages from the unconscious surface to conscious awareness. With lesser negative thoughts which accompanies the mental chatter, the subconscious mind can perform better in managing the various bodily functions which it is responsible for. This means better health and lessens the stress.

By using brainwave entrainment technology, the time it takes to master meditation would take only a short time. That's because the sound produced by brainwave entrainment can make the brain follow the frequency of vibration. In short the brain follows the frequency and produces the corresponding brain waves.

Binaural beats, monaural and isochronic tones can provide you with brainwave entrainment. The use of headphones is advised to make the tones standout from the external noise which could disrupt the entrainment process.

Among the three technologies, isochronic tones are more effective. You can reach the alpha level quicker but the tone may not be appealing to some people. All you will hear is a toot toot toot sound similar to a helicopter.

With the use of isochronic tones or other brainwave entrainment technology, one can bring down the time it takes to be in the meditative state. Other people though cannot get it the first time but after a few sessions, it becomes easier.

Practice meditation to become more creative, have more focus and concentration, be stress free and live a more joyful life. Brainwave entrainment can make it easier for you to achieve the meditative state.

Fitness tips at home

The general consensus within the whole populations is that fitness can only be achieved by going to the gym. This is definitely not true but the reason that the gym is more popular is because of the fact that it gets you into a disciplined routine.

All the work out routines that the gym instructor tells you is about having a discipline and focus in mind. The simple technique to get that same focus at home is to have a well defined plan on paper. Never do that in mind as that means that you will more than likely forget about it or try to evade it.

Next in line comes the gym equipment which is tough to replace. But the main point is that you have to have an answer that whether you want this equipment or not. In majority of cases you will be able to make use of the some home furniture or home stuff available to you.

Work at home is easy to achieve if you set a goal for yourself. There are a lot of internet websites available which will help you write down step by step the things you need to do to set down a goal for yourself. If you research extensively there are a lot of resources available online for working at home.

Eating healthy is also another thing that you should keep in mind. For maintaining some fitness get into the mode of eating healthy food as well as make sure that you regulate your intake calories. This will improve your energy levels thereby enabling you to exercise more effectively.

These tips are all common sense but very tough to follow. So make sure that you work hard and assiduously to achieve your fitness goal. The fact is that once you achieve this goal you can never rest on your laurels.

Conscious Dreaming - Wake Up Your Dreams!

Lucid dreaming, also called conscious dreaming, is the process of being asleep while maintaining awareness of your dreams. While you're in a dream state, you actually know that you're dreaming. That can even allow you to control your dreams consciously.

While having the ability to control your dreams may sound farfetched, its actually something which is within your reach. Lucid dreaming isnt that hard to do and these dreams are a great place to express your true self and your desires. There are techniques which have proven effective at producing lucid dreams.

First, you have to know what your goal is; are you looking to be able to get more enjoyment from your dreams or would you like to use this ability to help you improve your life in other areas? Whatever the reason, decide what it is that makes you want to discover conscious dreaming.

The next step is to begin practicing the techniques which can produce the appropriate state of mind for lucid dreaming to occur. The first step for most people is dream recall, which is simply training yourself to remember your dreams.

Learning to remember your dreams will help you to begin conscious dreaming. One thing which works for most is keeping a dream diary. Keep this beside your bed so that as soon as you awake (before your dreams can start melting away in the sun as they tend to do), you can write down all of the details you remember.

Slowly, you'll begin remembering more and more about your dreams, and you can use your dream diary to jog your memory. Since your mind is already primed to remember your dreams, becoming aware that they're happening is an easy next step. Many people simply "wake up" suddenly in a dream, becoming aware that what's happening isn't real.

In addition to use of a dream diary, another popular method is hypnosis. This can help you achieve the mental state required to enter conscious dreaming. Hypnosis can get people to remember the most minute details of their dreams after only a few sessions. After that, you'll be ready to start conscious dreaming.

You might find at first that you tend to suddenly wake during your lucid dreams; this is natural. In order to make a return to the dream, concentrate on the details of the dream as you drift back to sleep. This should enable you to quickly return and start controlling the events once again.

Another technique is to set your alarm for two or three hours earlier than usual then going back to sleep once awoken. It is a lot easier to have lucid dreams in the hours before you usually awake. It may even be unclear to you if these were dreams or you were just thinking as you lay awake. With practice, this technique will lead to conscious dreaming.

Try to keep track of your sleep schedule " this will help you to figure out when the best times for conscious dreaming are. Be sure not to deprive yourself of too much sleep, as you are actually less likely to have lucid dreams when sleep deprived.

Thankfully, conscious dreaming can be a good remedy for insomnia and other sleep disruptions! Once you develop lucid dreaming, you will be able to put a halt to the thoughts which keep you awake at night.

It might seem like lucid dreaming is something you can only do after years of study, but that's not really true. In just a little time, with a little work, you could become a conscious dreamer. Explore your own consciousness, manipulate your dreams and more!

Conscious dreaming is an ability which everyone has. By practicing these techniques, youll find yourself in control of your dreams in pretty short order; and enjoying all of the benefits of lucid dreams!

What Are The Benefits Of A Past Life Yoga ?

Only a total of twenty five percent of the population believe in reincarnation. However, this does not prove it does not exist. Were you ever inclined towards something or perhaps had an ability or talent and maybe wondered where that 'something' came from? Im sure you have an idea what Im referring too. At time during the day, we may feel a strong connection to something and havent got a clue why. Perhaps it was something that was important to you in your past life.

Unfortunately many people overlook this possibility or ignore the validity of it and by doing so miss the opportunity to truly grow as a person and find out who they are today and why. What you don't realize is that by not getting in touch with past lives you could very well be hindering your own success and personal achievement.

As a matter of fact extensive research has shown that past life regression is a very powerful tool in helping people with emotional problems.

One of the most common benefits of life regression is the healing and clearing of trauma. When we encounter trauma we all make one of two choices, run or face it and change it. When we are talking about life regression and facing trauma we also have the option of rescuing the past self and helping him/her move forward to the now where the trauma can be viewed as a whole by the Higher Self.

Contacting our creative sides is possible with the help of past life regression. Without exception, everyone is imbued with many talents and abilities which can help with guiding them in making choices and dealing with situations that they experience throughout their life. Going back into past lives with life regression makes it possible to bring these abilities forward to use as a inner guide.

A past life transgression can be rewritten with the help of past life regression. Karma, the full circle of life, means whatever you do, good or bad, will eventually come back to haunt you. If an another individual is involved it may be a contract or promise made in a past life and you have a need to become free of this agreement or contract. To do this you need to go back to that time period of agreement or contract was made. You can go back with the help of an inner guide and decide to either atone or see if the contract can be modified to help with your present situation.

A very significant benefit of going back to a past life through regression is the affirming and the grounding of ones self.

People who go back to a past life through past life regression want to feel more grounded and this is not uncommon and they also become more aware of themselves as a person. Its factual that they are now aware why they have some connections, desires, characteristics and talents. This information explains why they have these abilities and enables them to accept the situation, who they are and to live a more balanced life.

Ask the experts in the field of past life regression and they will agree, if a person practices past life regression they can truly improve or enhance their life. You will remember your past lives and begin to live a more complete and fulfilled life in the present practicing past life regression.

You think you experience feelings of simple figments of imagination, but a catharsis will begin, opening your mind, breaking down barriers that are blocking your achievement efforts giving you the ability to achieve everything you want in your life.

To briefly recap the benefits of life regression include dealing with traumatic events from the past so that we can move forward in the present life. By dealing with issues from the past we are better equipped to make better decisions today because we can use the experiences we have had in the past.

Knowing the history of past lives enables you to avoid the same mistakes in the present. It is a truth of your personal life and also world wide. Knowledge of any wrong doings in the past and having possibly paid the price can help you change and improve your present life for the better.

However, the most beneficial part of past life regression is the knowledge you will obtain. A better understanding who and what you are and the reason you are who you are. You have the opportunity to now live a more balanced and complete life today, in the present. You can now also live to your fullest potential utilizing all your talents, skills and abilities you had never known you possessed.

Enhance Your Life With Chakra Healing

A chakra relates to and broadcasts the energy of life force; it is a point of alignment in the body. Chakra comes from the Sanskrit word that describes a constantly spinning wheel or the sphere aural energy we each have. Hindu text tells us that there are many thousands of chakra points in each of our bodies. The most vital of these chakra points are those which run along the spinal column up to the crown of the head. These are the seven chakra points.

The seven chakras involve the root, navel, stomach, the heart, throat, and brow and the crown chakras. These featured chakra points have the ability to transmit and receive energy from the general surroundings as well as those individuals in it and other influential elements of the surroundings. Chakras can influence activities of an individual that deal with emotional, spiritual, intellectual, mystical, psychological and corporeal issues.

Whether you choose a viewpoint of the Hindus mystical understanding of an individual's internal and external experience, Chinese medicine or the explanation of modern psychology of human thought processes and consciousness, however the chakras are distinct yet they all have a common thread that runs with them all concerning their explanations or definitions.

Whether or not we are awake the chakras are in constant motion. This constant activity will influence the structure, appearance, physical disorders, glandular processes as well as our thoughts and deeds. However, if there is a chakra malfunction in one or more points that can be brought on by various reasons an imbalance will develop which will make itself known in other areas of our being.

There is a particular endocrine gland that associates with each of the seven main chakras. If there is an imbalance of the chakras functioning it does influence the physical and emotional body processes. This will be exposed as a disorder of some sort in the regulated patterns of behavior and or activities that relate to that particular endocrine gland.

Maintaining the Balance of Chakra Using the above as our point of beginning, we can assume safely that the majority of our ailments and illnesses are related to our chakras. Even though there may not be enough materialization of imbalance or illness, there may yet be concerns or emotions that come from our childhood that influence us spiritually, emotionally and physically.

One of the biggest causes of chakra imbalance is the repressed or forgotten emotional baggage we carry due to those past traumatic experiences. Many individuals habitually bury their bad memories into their subconscious, unaware that these emotional toxins that are buried inside them will influence their bodies on a cellular level. Therefore, it is essential to deal with emotional baggage once and for all in order to maintain a proper balancing of the chakras which ignites a healing process to begin on the physical self.

Our Body deserves Chakra Healing. By making use of such techniques as color therapy, aromatherapy, Reiki healing and balancing the chakras while using crystals, gemstones or a pendulum we can influence our chakras directly.

The performances of yoga breathing and physical exercises are beneficial to maintaining chakra balance within the body and it is something that many individuals enjoy participating in.

There is a wide variety of chakra healing methods, such as using CDs and audio guided visualization tapes to inspire techniques of relaxation and natural healing or focusing on an object, thought or awareness for a particular amount of time. These help by reducing stress and channeling relaxation and mind power.

The chakras work constantly to maintain the body, even though we cannot see or touch them.

In order for the chakras to be in balance the body must be fed properly and enjoy good health. Each of the seven major chakras has specific foods that aid in maintaining balance.

The root chakra takes nourishment from spices, protein rich food and root vegetables. Foods such as nuts, seeds, sweet fruits, cinnamon and vanilla nourish the sacral chakra. The solar plexus chakra that enhances out sense of personal self love and self confidence is nourished by consuming dairy products, pasta, breads, spicy mints and cereals.

The heart chakra takes nourishment from green leafy vegetables and green tea. Tangy fruits like apples and peaches as well as the consumption of plenty of fruit juices and water aid in nourishing the throat chakra.

The third eye chakra which is responsible for the sharpness of third eye sight and a profound sense of the psychical gifts we all have is nourished by consuming such items as grapes, blueberries, grape juice and wine.

Our emotional and spiritual center the crown chakra requires a good detoxification. This is done by ritual inhalation of herbs and incense and fasting.

When we stimulate our chakras we directly influence our health. We move towards being more responsive and spiritual as we attune ourselves completely with our surroundings and the elements of the physical and metaphysical world in which we live. -

Get fitness by being disciplined

We have all but lost our way to achieve fitness. This is because of our lifestyle and also because we do not have time because of our material pursuits.

Our world has changed quite a lot since the earlier generations which were there on this earth. Our forefathers used walk long distances and we just cannot avoid the car at any time. They used gather at a common spot and talk for long hours and we get in front of the TV and become a couch potato. Such is the sad state of our fitness

Everything happens at the touch of a button and you need even do any sort of physical activity for doing anything at all during the day. This is precisely the reason that you will see kids becoming obese which is a result of physical inactivity and junk food.

Our eating habits have made sure that what ever we eat is now unhealthy. Since we do not have a fitness regimen we have labeled everything as bad food.

Inaction is what we need to say good bye to. Not to despair there are various ways in which we can get that much needed exercise. A lot of things have been invented which can help us get exercise inside or outside our homes.

Will power, patience and perseverance are what you need to get into a particular routine. It is all about being disciplined enough and following a particular regimen. There is nothing which cannot be achieved if you are mentally tough.

There are now consoles available which help you play games alongside getting fit. There is definitely a new revolution sweeping across the world with this kind of games which combine fun with exercise. The underlying motto being that it will spur you out if inaction into action.

A Little on Meditation Techniques

Here in this article, you can take a look at how resorting to meditation and yoga can help you. What we need to assure you is that these are simple techniques which can be learned and practiced by anyone - they don't take up too much time either. Though it is an age old practice, it is very much in use today as well and people from all over the world swear by it. The main thing about meditation is being able to focus mentally on something so that the mind becomes relaxed, calm and peaceful.

Mediation can be performed in various ways: silent meditation, chanting, listening to chants or other soothing music meant for meditation. You could focus on an external object like a painting or you could internalize it and focus on your posture or your breathing. No matter what the approach used, a quiet environment and a fixed uninterrupted time span will be required.

No matter what approach you decide to use, you are going to need a really quiet environment and a certain period of time, in which you aren't going to be interrupted. Then select a word, object, or one's own breathing rhythm and find a comfortable position - to prevent falling asleep it is best not to be lying down. The ultimate aim is to reach a state of a mild trance, a state where you are aware of your surroundings yet detached from it.

However, there are two much deeper states where the mind is able to become calmer still. These include Judaism, Sufism and mystical Christian traditions. Buddhism uses the technique to control one's mind and to draw within oneself in an endeavor to attain enlightenment. You can meditate anywhere and in any posture - while lying back, walking, sitting, whatever - however, the best position would be 'zazen' or sitting down.

Harvard Medical School Professor Herbert Benson's research, documents the psychological and physical advantages of meditation. The studies that have been conducted have shown that even twenty minutes can really help to reduce your blood pressure, your breathing and heart rates, slow the metabolism and reduce the muscle tension. Occasionally, once you have reached a deep state, you are going to start to see swirls of mental pictures and colors or you are going to internally hear a voice that is talking to you. Studies have demonstrated that meditation can aid in relieving stress, anxiety, migraine and headaches, depression, insomnia, fatigue and chronic pain.

As this practice leads to happier, healthier and greater self-awareness, other advantages begin to ensue including, higher intuition, enhanced mental functioning, and access to unconscious abilities and resources.

While traditionally meditation was a tool to get you to a higher spiritual level, today it is also used to help you manage the stresses and tension that are a part and parcel of the modern lifestyle. Overall, the combination of yoga classes and daily meditation is going to bring you a lot closer to a life that is completely free of stress. .

Easy Meditation Technique: Visualization

Have you considered incorporating meditation into your daily routine to help you unwind and relieve your tension? It may appear that meditation is a complex process that requires advanced awareness and ability, but at its foundation, meditation is largely about focus and relaxation.

Visualization techniques are an excellent way to introduce yourself to the practice of meditation. The steps are easy to follow, and you can do this right in your own home.

You can meditate at any time throughout the day, but mornings are the ideal time. You'll have fewer disturbances then, and since the day has just started, you won't have so many distracting thoughts and feelings getting in the way.

The first step is to choose a peaceful, secluded room in which to meditate, away from other people and noisy distractions. Next, find a comfortable position in which to sit. You might think you have to sit cross-legged with a stiff spine like you've seen in pictures, but that's not at all necessary. You can sit on the bed, the floor, in a chair or on a pillow, just as long as you're comfortable. You might find it uncomfortable to cross your legs, or find that it hinders your blood flow, so keep your legs extended and relaxed if you want. Make sure your spine is upright but relaxed.

Now that you are seated, close your eyes and let your body relax. Stay like this for a couple of minutes in order to still your mind and loosen up your body.

This visualization exercise consists of focusing on a specific object. You can select any object you wish, such as a tree, a candle or even a favorite animal. Think about this object and its many qualities. Vividly imagine its texture, smooth or rough; its shape, curvy or sharp; and its color. Next, picture yourself becoming that object.

Let your thoughts come effortlessly. Be aware of the object you have chosen to focus on and feel it becoming part of you.

It's essential that you minimize distractions so that your thoughts aren't disturbed by the sounds of others in the house. A private room is critical to your success. If a thought tries to intrude, or a sound distracts you, just put it aside and come back to your visualization.

You won't be able to achieve this level of contemplation in your first session, and it will probably take many efforts before you feel that it comes effortlessly. But it will happen if you are determined.

As you continue to meditate with visualization, it will be easier and easier to keep distractions at bay and concentrate on your object. And you will have achieved your goal of learning how to relax both your body and your mind.

Meditation...You can achieve the meditation skills of a Tibetan monk in just minutes. No long training needed.

Brainwave Entrainment was first developed in the 1930's by the pioneers who were studying newly discovered brain waves. These brain waves were found by newly invented machines which could read the brain waves of live people. This was the very beginning of a new science. . . the science of looking into the live brain.

The Brainwave Entrainment method easily puts the subject into a state of deep meditation. We will show you why that is important later.

A startling early discovery was that it was possible to influence brain waves by using sound. No one had ever thought this would be possible. . . except that perhaps certain music might be exciting or calming.

It was discovered that putting slightly different "beats" into each ear would influence brain waves. This was an almost accidental discovery. This bold, new technique was named entrainment at that time.

Beats are nothing more than sounds that beat like a drum . . . of course drums are not used. Semi musical or musical beats work best.

When the mind hears a different musical beat from each ear, it wants to normalize the two. The brain does this by creating a third beat which is a result of the two sounds the brain is hearing. This is perceived as a beat which takes place within the head of the listener. No one else can hear it.

This inside-the-head sound which no one else can hear is call a Binaural Beat.

Binaural beats are interesting because of the manner in which desired frequencies are generated.

For example: a 500 Hz tone in one ear and 510 Hz tone in the other ear will produce a subsonic 10 Hz tone which can only be heard inside the head. Thus, it is true that a binaural beat is the difference between the tones which are heard by the ears. (This example would be somewhere in the middle of the Alpha range. Alpha brain waves are usually the target for change in human thought or behavior.)

Remember, that this effect is obtained without either ear hearing the binaural beat when using the headphones. The brain produces the pulse by combining the two tones. Each ear hears only the different tone given to it

Binaural Beats are said to be helpful when treating certain conditions.

Little, if anything, about Binaural sound and its effects is known by most medical practitioners since this is a new modality. However, there are places which offer Binaural Beat technology. This may be used to achieve positive results.

Now what about MEDITATION? Well, recent scientific studies have revealed that meditation is very good for humans. It quiets the mind and body and helps with healing and with mental attitude. Binaural beats can quickly bring one to a state achieved only by Tibetan monks who spend many long years learning how to quiet their minds into a relaxed meditative state. With Binaural beats you can go there there in just a few minutes.

Chakra Color Therapy For a Better Life

The attainment of inner peace does not require any external force. There is a huge energy reservoir within our bodies that is sufficient to fulfill all our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. All that is required is to channel and balance the movement of seven primary energy centers, or chakras, in the body.

In addition to their location in the body and significance, these seven chakras can also be distinguished by the colors associated with each of them. You can use these colors to correct the imbalance in their movements that might have crept in due to any reason. The process of using colors in such a therapeutic manner is known as Chakra Color Therapy.

Before discussing about the Chakra Color Therapy, a brief description of the primary chakras and their associated colors will not be out of place:

1. The Root Chakra (or Muladhara), situated at the base of the spine, is associated with our general health and survival, courage, and vitality. Red is the color associated with this chakra, which empowers the body with overall energy and vitality.

2. The Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) is situated in the lower abdomen. This second chakra is associated with second basic needs, i.e., our sexual drive and emotions. The color associated with this chakra is Orange. The attributes of Orange color for the body includes conviction in ones actions and the art of thinking independently.

3. The Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) is situated in the stomach region. This third chakra is associated with lending power, will and identity to the individual. The color associated with this chakra is Yellow. The attributes of Yellow color for the body include thought clarity and self-worthiness.

4. The Heart Chakra, or Anahata, is located in the center of the chest. This chakra is associated with love, compassion, and self-expression. The associated color is Green, which is known for its qualities of intimacy and forgiveness.

5. The Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) is situated in the throat region. This fifth chakra is associated with expressing oneself and communicating with others. The color associated with this chakra is Blue. The attributes of Blue color for the body includes creativity, self-identification, and clearly expressing ones thoughts.

6. The Brow Chakra (or Ajna), situated between the brows on the forehead, is associated with perception, intuition, and imagination. Indigo is the color associated with this chakra, which empowers the body with qualities, like visualization, understanding, and clear vision.

7. The Crown Chakra, or Sahasrara, is located on top of the head. This chakra is associated with wisdom and enlightenment. The associated color is Violet, which is known for its qualities of self-knowledge and spiritual awareness.

Quite simply, Chakra Color Therapy refers to simple exercises that use the relevant colors to correct the movement of imbalanced chakras. But, before you employ Chakra Color Therapy to treat the imbalance, its vital to know which chakra or chakras is/are affected in the body.

For the very first step, you can simply lie down, relax, and mull over all the events in the day in any order that is convenient to you. The experience of emotions related to each event will tell you the affected chakra. After identifying the problem chakra, its time for Color Breathing. Its simple. Take all the seven colored cloth swatches besides you. Put the relevant colored cloth on the body part, which is represented by the affected chakra. Lie down, close your eyes, relax, take deep breaths, and simply visualize the absorption of the color by the affected body part for 5-10 minutes. Repeat this exercise if there are more affected chakras in the body.

You can easily maintain chakra balance in the body by regularly practicing Chakra Color Therapy for about 10 minutes daily. It will recharge and oil your chakra movements while keeping their healthy movement going within the body. Your physical, mental and spiritual well being was never so easy to attain.

Both mind and body need to be as strong as possible and in great shape in order to just get through life. Being happy and healthy will carry the body through all its paces. Healthy living and the formation of the Body Road Map begins at conception and must be maintained all the way through to the end of life. This means healthy eating and exercise for the body as well as, meditation and reflection for the mind. One of the best ways to keep a healthy mind and body is through massage.

We only have so much energy in our bodies. Just like a car we need to ensure that we have enough fuel to get from A to B. Apart from food our energy levels can be revitalised with a massage. It is a know fact that massage can rejuvenate muscles and help us perform our daily tasks. It has been used by generation after generation before us so try to have a massage at lest once a week.

Reading the body road map and interpreting the signs telling you what needs to be done is the key to a happy and healthy body. Your body is going to be with you a long time and treating it well will mean being able to enjoy and experience all that life has to offer while you are here.

A Simple Way to Learn Meditation through Visualization

Are you interested in trying out some meditation techniques to help you relax and relieve your stress? It may appear that meditation is a complicated procedure requiring lots of knowledge and skill, but at its core, meditation is just about focus and relaxation.

The following visualization exercise will help you realize just how simple it is to meditate. The instructions aren't hard to follow, andbe done easily in any comfortable location in your house.

Many people prefer to meditate first thing in the morning, although it can be done anytime that's convenient for you. There are usually fewer distractions in the morning, and your mind hasn't had a chance to become cluttered with to-do lists, irritations and everyday crises.

Before you start, find a peaceful, secluded room, somewhere where you feel calm and quiet. Now seat yourself in a comfortable position, sitting straight with your spine relaxed but upright. Sit wherever you feel most comfy, either in a chair, on the floor, perched on a cushion, or on the bed. People frequently meditate sitting cross-legged on the floor, but if you find this uncomfortable or restrictive to your circulation, keep your legs extended. The important thing is that you're relaxed.

Now that you've settled in, it's time to calm yourself. Close your eyes and relax your body. Let go of your thoughts for the moment.

It's important that you are not distracted by external noises and activities, so a secluded location is vital to your success. If a thought occurs to you, or a noise distracts you, just set it aside and return to focusing on the object.

Misconceptions About Prayer Part 4

Misconception #4: God sometimes forgets or tries to renege on His promises and is depending on pray-ers to remind Him of them.

God does not need to be reminded of His promises. He made promises and bound Himself to us in a blood-sealed covenant so that we would know exactly what we could expect from Him. The purpose of His promises is to give us confidence and peace. Instead, sometimes we pray as if we are responsible for finding the scriptural promise that can be construed as guaranteeing the outcome we have prescribed, then taking that promise to God to hold Him to His Word.

This kind of pray-er treats God's Word as if it is a catalog. He decides what God should do, looks through the Bible to find a verse that will match his plan, and orders it. In doing so, as in catalog shopping, the pray-er skims over everything that holds no appeal. He picks and chooses.

Remember, Scripture is not Gods words; it is God's Word. Scripture is a whole and cannot be cut apart and pasted together to match my agenda. His Word is not a catalog. It is His promise in writing.

When we approach prayer this way--as if God might try to get out of meeting our need, but since we have His promise, we can hold Him to it--once again, energy is spent in the wrong direction. What a burden it is for me to search the scripture and find exactly the right verse to bring to God's attention. Instead, as I turn my heart and my mind toward Him, He reminds me of His promises. He reminds me of what I can count on. The promises are not for me to use in getting my way with God, but they are for God to use to inspire faith and confidence within me.

I know there are sentences in Scripture which some have interpreted to mean that we are to remind God of His promises. For example, "Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life" (Ps 119:49-50). This word translated "remember" means to put a mark on something so you can find it again. In our day, it would be like to highlight text on a page. Make it stand out. Emphasize it. Certainly David was not fearful that God had forgotten His word.

Now let's look at a n incident in which it appears that the petitioner was reminding God of His promises. Right now, read 2 Chronicles 20:1-29 and take note of Jehoshophat's prayer. Notice that it sounds as if he is reminding God.

Let's dissect that some. Jehoshaphat came before the Lord to inquire of Him and to seek help from Him. The promises of God and the past faithfulness of the Lord began to fill Jehoshaphat's mind. What sounded like the petitioner reminding God, was really God reminding the petitioner. Notice who Jehoshaphat's faith and boldness grew with each declaration of God's promises. God was building a foothold for his faith.

God is watching over His word to see that it is carried out, according to Jeremiah 1:12. Every word He has spoken and every promise He has made live forever and are settled in the heavens. Rather than working to find a promise of which you can "remind" God, instead be still and let God remind you.

Creating The Perfect Body

By Ellen Valentine

In 1988 I heard Dr. Dennis Waitley say, If you go there in the mind, youll go there in the body every time. He followed that with a story about Olympic champions that visualized themselves pole vaulting or walking the balance bar perfectly before they ever walked out on the floor to compete. When their pulse and respiration were monitored these increased the same as they would if they were actually performing physically. Their body went along with their mind. How can that help us create the body we want?

How we see ourselves in our minds eye is really how we think of ourselves. Sit still and take a few deep breaths. Imagine you, how you look; how you walk; how you speak; how you perform at a task you love to do. What does it look like that first time? Are you walking or dancing fluidly? Is your skin flawless? How symmetrical do you appear? If you saw something less than feels absolutely good to you, in other words, you flinched or felt a fist in your solar plexus or hated the process; then, you want to create a visualization of what you really want to see and make it real. So, the reality is that there isn't anything wrong or bad about you but if you want to shift something you can.

In his book Success Principles, my mentor and friend, Jack Canfield suggests that the very beginning of each day and the end of the day are perfect times to review, create or even recreate your day. It is the time when all of your goals can be thought over, given life so to speak, integrated as if theyve already been accomplished. You can end the visualization time with gratitude that wells up in the heart. Jack is a great teacher, definitely one that walks his talk and gives more than he promises. http://tinyurl.com/ch9l2s

I want to share that even if you dont like the skin youre in, giving gratitude for what you have is really important. The reality is the more you push away how you look or feel, the more the feeling or unwanted situation will stare you in the face. Acknowledge all that is good about you; and please, dont say there isnt anything good. I know that isnt true at all. Think of every small and large accomplishment. Make a list and add to it every time something new pops in your head like, I have beautiful skin, my teeth are really straight, I am feeling healthy right now. Add everything you think of. Allow the list to grow and boost your self esteem.

If it seems difficult to SEE a new you, focus on how it will FEEL to achieve a body symmetrical and healthy. Healthy eating styles can be implemented too and will most likely be easier after youve spent a couple of weeks imprinting your hearts desire on the sea of awareness. Then, let go and trust that everything will really be perfect. Detach from the outcome. Let go of guilt, blame and shame. Put gratitude for what you do have together with detachment and sentient rich visualization, and enjoy the life and the physical shape of your dreams right now.

Create the body of your dreams and make it happen. Brain Science supports your right to create on every level; and Master Teachers all over the planet are proving it is so.

Chakra Balancing The Secret To Wellbeing and Contentment!

By Jo Taylor-Combes

Today many individuals have no clue to the significant existence of the spiritual being and physical being since modern science reduces this fact from their own minds.

However, in the Hindu thoughts of life, the flame of spiritual healing is still burning brightly alongside the advancements in science and technology.

Chakra means Wheel of Light in Sanskrit. There are seven primary chakras as well as many secondary chakras. All of these chakras are continually rotating and vibrating inside a healthy body.

Any type of imbalance in the movement of the chakras it may result in an overall state of imbalance that hinders the healthy functioning of a body. Achieving chakra balancing is imperative for encouraging a healthy spirit, mind and body.

Charkas are the entry points of the human aura. They run along the mid-points of the body from the base of the spine up to the top of the head. These points of entry are centers of activity. The chakras work by receiving, dispersing and expressing our life force energy. They attract and send out energy back and forth with nature, the universe, other humans as well as celestial entities.

What modifies Chakra Balancing?

When one or more chakras suffer a blockage, there is no harmonious flow of energy. Such blockages will cause the chakras to suffer imbalance and in turn, these imbalances will begin to make themselves known in various areas of our lives.

The harmonious functioning of the chakras become unbalanced for various reasons such as, illness, toxic exposure, stress, an unhealthy diet and lack of exercise as well as childhood traumas, emotional injuries, an inability to express emotions, beliefs incongruent with Truth, cultural conditioning, and so on.

Chakra Balancing is Essential to Happiness and Health

It is an admirable yet unpractical idea that Chakras function harmoniously and naturally. Although, many individuals do try to correct any dysfunctions in order to achieve a finer balance between the chakras. Self-healing is a theory that originates somewhat from chakra balancing.

The condition of our chakras will influence our body shape, our thoughts and behaviors as well as our glandular processes and any recurring ailments we may suffer. Chakra balancing helps our body to work towards achieving a healthier mind, spirit and body.

Chakra Balancing Benefits include:

* Recognition of the True Self

* Physical health and vitality

* Inner peace and complete happiness

* Inner peace and complete happiness

* Consciously being in touch with ones body

* Accelerating development of spiritual growth

* Sexually content life without the influence of lust

* Awareness of ones feelings at the higher celestial level

* Awareness of feelings at the higher universal level

* Immeasurable levels of confidence, but without appearing over confident

* Spiritual healing through higher patterns of awareness, perception and recognition

How to achieve Chakra Balancing

You can use any number of various techniques to achieve charka balancing. One or more of these techniques are helpful for harmonizing the functions of the chakras within the body.

* The use of Aromatherapy

* Using Touch Therapy

* Always Think Positively

* Physical exercise

* Try Color and Light Therapy

* Crystals and Gemstones Therapy

* Binaural Sound Frequency Recordings

* Reiki Healing Therapy

* Balancing with the Use Of Hands and Pendulums

* Positive Affirmations, and self Hypnosis

* Meditation and Yoga, and breathing exercises

Being a container of energy, our bodies continually release and dispose of all spent energy through the various organs of our bodies and then stocks up on new supplies of energy.

New energy generates and then chakra balancing helps to send this energy to each of the cells and vital organs of the body for its use. Chakra balancing ensures that the entire body gets its own share of this new energy for its specific use.

While in such a great and desirable state, there is a natural flowing of health, happiness as well as inner peace. Bringing the chakras back into their natural state of frequencies and vibrations is what chakra balancing is all about. - 24041

Healing Through an Internet and yoga

By Laurice F. Egerton

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing the majority of us have horror stories from childhood. I doubt that any of us escaped childhood without scars from some sort of dysfunction. I'll won't go into details, just say that I endured abuse.

I grew up with an alcoholic father. This left me with more pity for him than anger. He tried to the best of his ability to teach us good values. As is typical, his addiction and relative lack of social skills left him distant, unreliable, and angry. Our family situation left my mother depressed emotionally distant as well. I was the oldest of 6 children, and felt responsible for the happiness and well-being of everyone. I am not looking for sympathy here. In fact, I am grateful for my experiences, as they have given me an empathetic perspective and determination. I did not enter adulthood without scars.

My lack of self-love and trust issues ruined my first marriage. Which in turn almost ruined me. I had sworn that I would never put my children through unhappy parents or a divorce. But I did not know how to do anything different! The raw truth is that we live what we learn until the pain becomes so intense that we either change or cave. I caved, and then changed.

Although healing is a lifelong process, I can say that I can talk about my past now without tears. Opposing statistics on marriages, my second marriage is really good. I believe this is because I took a good hard look at what I needed to change, and how to work through my ego and get to my true self.

I have always been aware of my deep-seated insecurities. I felt unlovable and insignificant. Though I knew there must be a better way and that I was meant to feel joy, I couldn't find tactile answers. I looked to my religion, and was open to any new teaching or method that didn't conflict with my beliefs.

I won't go into each of them in detail, as I would have to write a book (maybe I will). I have found yoga, meditation, service to others, extreme exercise (marathons, 100-200 mile bike rides, tri-athlons) a business that helps me personally and financially, and loving 8 children unconditionally to be helpful in my journey of healing. I wish I would have learned long ago what I know now through my business that has taught me a lot about the Law of Attraction. Maybe I wasn't ready to accept these concepts until now. Its funny how life throws things your way when it does.

Healing really only takes a decision. It sounds too simple, I know. It's changing your beliefs so that you can make the decision to be happy that takes the time and effort (well for most). It's that we get some sort of "peanut prize" for not letting our offenders off the hook by being totally free of the harm they've done. Well, guess what? You are not hurting them by holding on. You didn't put them on the hook, and you can't let them off. You can however, let yourself off, and decide to be happy. Be grateful for the good things, and move forward.

Gratitude. Yes, we can all be grateful for something on any given day, and probably in any given hour. If you start feeling sorry for yourself again, think of the approximately 5 billion people in this world right now that you wouldn't trade places with!

Just in case you think happiness is not a choice, visit a third-world country. Maybe only through books or the internet. I traveled to Ethiopia to adopt our two youngest children, and it changed my life. Living conditions, AIDS, the orphan epidemic, and lack of food didn't stop most of these people from feeling joy and hope. They had learned to rely on the universal truth that we are human BEINGS rather than DOINGS. Think outside of yourself for a while. Things you have or even do will never define YOU. Just be. Find joy. It has always been there within you from the beginning of your creation, and you can't change it. Just recognize it, and find purpose!

This may sound as though I am judging anyone who has gone through horrible circumstances and is lost in depression or self-destruction. Remember I have been there. I know the pain. I know the necessary work to heal. My only hope is to help someone get there faster than me. Lets all stop wasting time and start living life the way it was meant. "Men are that they might have joy.

Meditation and Business Success

By Laurice Egerton

The Enlightened Way of Living could have been the title of Eknath Easwaran's book Meditation. I wondered what all of those chapters could have to do with meditation. However, it is explained beautifully throughout the entire book.

I didn't really know what I could gain from meditation that I wasn't already accomplishing through yoga. So, I didn't have a desire to start. It was something we yogi's SHOULD do. But I didn't WANT to. I had been on this journey of taming my inner demons for years, and felt stuck for about 2. So, one paragraph suggesting that meditation could help quiet the egoic mind had me intrigued.

The author is incredibly effective at describing things in a moving, yet down to earth manner. For the first time in my life, I felt really comfortable with the whole idea. His descriptive symbolism, and examples taught the concepts in a way I truly understood. In fact, I was moved to tears several times. I really related to his stories of his grandmother. And except for eluding to the idea that organized religion is only a way for us to feed our egos and be with people who seem like us, the ideas were very familiar to me. He was trying to make the case for studying all mystics, rather than limiting oneself I believe.

I found it interesting that he suggests meditating on a mantra, prayer, or great words of wisdom from great mystic leaders. Chalk this up to my ignorance on the subject, but I thought the point of meditation was to clear your mind. I have never really been able to do that, so I was relieved that he said it is impossible.

I have always been intrigued by the observation that most great enlightened minds in history come to virtually the same conclusions. With, of course variations due to culture, circumstance or time in history. But, truth is always truth, and those who seek it will find it wherever or however they may be.

As far as meditation and mantras are concerned, my religious upbringing had me believe htis might fall into the worshiping idols category. That being said, I have always had an open mind as someone who was taught a lot of great truths from a non-religious parent who was alcoholic and at times abusive. My point in stating this is that when the author suggested:

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

as one of the most beautiful mantrams he has ever heard, I initially put it out of my mind as one suitable for me because of its connotations in my mind of the Jewish faith. Not that it is bad, just that I thought it would contradict my beliefs. However, after I read the meaning of the words broken down into their syllabic meanings, I, too, thought it one of the most beautiful mantrams I have ever heard. Those three words mean, Oh Lord who has stolen my heart, I cannot rest until I find Him. He ceaselessly, ceaselessly draws me unto Him, and is the only source of true joy. I love finding words in foreign languages that say so much in so few syllables! I find that English just doesnt do feelings justice in so many instances.

There are so many truths that I knew but gained a better clarity on through this book. Some of which are: Our bodies are only a type of clothing; we "shed" our bodies at death; when you recognize illusion, it evaporates; lose yourself, and you shall find yourself; slow down in order to speed up; depth, not breadth; the senses can be trained and therefore magnified;discipline is freedom.

I would suggest to anyone seeking for truth, enlightenment, knowledge or freedom to buy this book and refer to it often. Thank goodness for Amazon, as it is now out of print. Even with no great insights, meditation will provide moments of peace in trying times, clarity in confusion, and time to listen. To my friends who are a bit skeptical of the mystical as I was, I say meditation is taking the time to listen for answers to prayers.
